We replace standard residential effluent pumps with a unit matched to the existing system design, and we replace the float switches along with it.
When the pump has to be replaced
The job comes up when the pump no longer moves liquid out of the chamber, or when the floats no longer switch it on and off. Opening the chamber shows which one it is. Since the floats are what tell the pump when to run, we swap them with the pump so the new unit isn't controlled by old switches.
Worth comparing with drainfield repair or replacement. Searching for septic tank pumping in Pueblo? Our home page covers it.

The steps we take on site
We open the pump chamber and disconnect the threaded union from the pump discharge line. Then we lift the pump and floats out by the safety rope, never by the power cord, so the cord isn't strained or damaged on the way up.
The replacement is an effluent pump matched to the system design, set with new float switches and connected back to the discharge line at the union.

What the job costs
Standard residential effluent pump replacement runs $400 to $900 installed, and that typical range is something we can quote on the phone. It includes pulling the old equipment and setting the new pump and switches.
Weather and code in Pueblo
Pueblo is dry, around 12 inches of precipitation in a year, with the rain concentrated in August and January the driest month. August is also the worst hail month in southeastern Colorado, so we keep an eye on the sky before we open a chamber in late summer.
Permit work in Pueblo falls under the 2021 International Residential Code.
